In recent years, prescription drugs have been used often and often This drugs treat anything from sleep disorders and chronic pain to disorder and anxiety. The high dosage drugs like Vicodin, Xanax, Ritalin have become very much household names. As these drugs are available easily it becomes a habit to take this drugs which would lead to addiction.


Majority of people take this drug as a prescription drug but 20 percent of Americans are addicted to this drug. Whether this drug are obtained from doctor’s prescription or by stealing it from a friend or family member when taken without any health care’s concern these drugs can be extremely dangerous leading to death.

According to drug report there are 3 classes of prescription drugs which are commonly abused. The three main classes are Central Nervous system (CNS) depressants, CNS stimulants and narcotic analgesics.

The CNS stimulants include drugs like Ritalin and Dexedrine, which are commonly prescribed for attention deficit disorder and narcolepsy. Once a person becomes addicted to these drugs it can lead to elevation of high blood pressure and heart rate ultimately leading to heart attack.

The CNS depressants include drugs like Xanax and Valium which are responsible for treating sleeplessness and acute anxiety. When this drug becomes an overdose it can lead to coma or death.

So the prescription drug addiction if becomes an habit could be very much lethal to an individual’s life.
